Profile

Collections Manager

I am responsible for the curation of the state collection of fungi, lower plant groups and the vascular flora holdings. This involves supervising the specimen mounting and incorporation programs, supervising liaison between database entry staff and curators to ensure that the names on herbarium specimens and species folders are in agreement with the census of WA flora and fungi. I am responsible for the incoming and external loan program including duplicate distribution.

I am responsible for the management and maintenance of the storage facility to ensure the permanent preservation of the specimens. This includes ensuring the specimens are safe and housed adequately with particular attention to temperature, humidity, fire, insect pest exclusion and visitor access.

I am responsible for the management of the Volunteer Program.

Expertise

My major area of expertise is in the curation of Herbarium specimens. I also have significant experience in volunteer management.
