Profile

I am currently a Senior Technical Officer with Science Division. I am actively involved in the planning and execution of several wildlife research projects.

This work has focused on examining the impacts of environmental disturbance on vertebrate and invertebrate communities in forest, woodland and shrubland habitats of Western Australia. In addition I have studied the ecology of several individual vertebrate species and currently have a major role in co-ordinating the translocation of mammal species as required in Western Shield and the Chuditch Recovery Plan.

Expertise

  • Forest ecology
  • Responses of fauna to management practices and disturbance
  • Ecology of South Western terrestrial vertebrate fauna
  • Species translocation
  • Sampling and monitoring methodologies

Brief Curriculum Vitae

Academic Record:

1991 - 1994: Diploma of Applied Science, (Conservation and Wildlife Management), University of South Australia.

Current Science Projects

  • Chuditch Recovery Plan
  • Fire Effects on Vertebrates
  • Effects of Timber Harvesting on Small and Medium Sized Vertebrates.
