Profile

I am the Senior Technical Officer responsible for the day to day running of the Departments ex situ seed conservation facility, the Threatened Flora Seed Centre. I am currently involved with the collection, cleaning and long term storage of seeds from conservation significant plants for the Millennium Seed Bank Project. I am also conducting a PhD examining factors that affect seed longevity in ex situ storage.

Expertise

  • Ex situ seed conservation
  • Seed collection, storage and longevity
  • Seed dormancy and germination in Western Australian plants

Brief Curriculum Vitae

Bachelor of Science (Horticulture) with 2A honours, The University of Western Australia, 1994.

Current Science Projects

  • Conservation seed collection and storage for the Millennium Seed Bank Project
  • Ex situ seed conservation in Australia: Factors affecting seed longevity
